Employment and Training

(Including cross cultural competency and/or awareness)

We have used a combination of our corporate knowledge and experience with Indigenous groups to transition into the area of Indigenous employment and training. We have been long standing members for the panel operated by Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) managed by the Department of Education Employment and Work Place Relations (DEEWR).

Our relationships with mining companies and contractors across several states have involved us in projects relating to the development of training and work experience opportunities for Indigenous job seekers both in regional and remote areas. One of our principals has been the Managing Director of one of the largest privately 100% Aboriginal owned and operated Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and Group Training Organisations.

Yaran Business Services are the perfect fit for a partnership approach that combines good business practice with innovative ideas and projects that will lead to Indigenous employment outcomes. We have worked with Native Title groups who are negotiating and reviewing employment based agreements with Mining companies and related employers through Land Access Agreements and have been involved in the development of Labour Hire Initiatives in heritage and land management programs within regions.

Yaran has also undertaken cross cultural awareness training for the following corporate and government entities during the past three years: Baulderstone, DFEEST, the Bedford Group, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Netball SA, Insolvency Trust Services Australia, Perpetual Private, Department of Health Canberra, Department of Defence Canberra and Westminster College amongst others. We tailor our courses to meet the business register and needs of the organisation.
